  1. It’s Going to be Manufactured in the US: Though conceived in Germany, the Atlas will be born in the US. Each model will be built at Volkswagen’s Chattanooga, TN plant.
  2. It’s Green: The Chattanooga plant is the only automotive manufacturing facility in the world to receive Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED program.
  3. It’s Big: This will be the largest VW ever built for the United States, measuring 198.3 inches long, 77.9 inches wide, and 69.6 inches high.
  4. It’s Roomy: There’s room for seven passengers, with innovative second-row seats offering adult-friendly dimensions in the rear.
  5. It’s Safe: The Atlas will offer a full selection of driver-assistance features, and will also be the only vehicle in its class to offer VW’s Automatic Post-Collision Braking System.
  6. It’s Connected: Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are offered; you can use third party apps like Yelp or OpenTable to find everything you need in towns like Schaumburg and Elmhurst.
  7. It’s Powerful: You’ll be able to choose between either a 238-hp turbocharged four-cylinder or a 280-hp V6.
  8. It’s Efficient: All five available trims will take advantage of a fuel-sipping 8-speed transmission for enhanced efficiency.
  9. It’s Innovative: The Atlas will include the most sophisticated sound system ever seen in a VW: a 12-channel, 12-speaker, 480-watt Fender system.
  10. It’s Available Soon: You have to wait a little longer for the 2018 Atlas to hit showrooms, but the vehicle is expected to be available in early 2017.
